For awhile, Sirius has been popular with investors. They generally haven’t given anyone anything too cheer about. Finally, with Howard Stern subscriber numbers in, people have some news to be optimistic about. SIRI has big revenue increase, despite news that stock based compensation for Stern cost the company over $200 million.

It raised its forecast for subscribers at the end of 2006 to over 6.2 million, up from its previous goal of 6 million.

The numbers are cause for optimism, but the company is still bleeding red ink. They made a prediction that they would profit on a “cash flow basis”.
