How are things progressing this week on Wall Street? That depends on who you ask and when you ask them. Stocks are up today. The market seems unphased by the Jerry Lewis heart attack news, or maybe the impact hasn’t settled in for traders yet. (Could there actually be a stock that moves up or down because of this news?). Traders look for every angle when it comes to uncovering new investments, so you need to keep every possible cause in mind.

News affecting the market this week:
1) Inflation
2) Interest rate adjustments by Ben Bernanke
Let’s not forget the other factors that affect our investing decisions. Namely, how some of the major stocks are performing. A few bellweathers worth mentioning:
1) Personal favorite Intel upgraded - Intel stock has been trading around 3 year low levels, so this could be an entry point - especially as global chip demand for non-pc products continues to soar
2) Apple fell this week because Creative it them with a technology dispute lawsuit this week - original ideas are rarely original and almost always need to be protected
Creative is down in the dumps and looking to hit a legal homer to get back in the game. Who is the ultimate winner in the MP3 sweepstakes? Guessing right could make investors a ton of money. Digital music is an extremely profitable business with huge growing demand.
The summer blahs seem to be shaken out of the market today, so no telling how this weekend will end.
