GM has been struggling, and some people think an alliance between GM and Nissan may be the answer. The deal would involve GM, Nissan, and Renault, and would include a large cash infusion into GM. The original proposal was made by the largest stockholder in GM, Kirk Kerkorian.

The deal could be great for Carlos Ghosn who is the President of Renault, Nissan, and would be the new head of GM.

The alliance, considered to be a “tie-up” still has a long ways to go, but GM stock was up on the news. The main advantage of such an alliance would be huge cost-cutting measures that could come in very convenient for all three companies.

The alliance would be responsible of 25% of all cars manufactured, if it were to go through.
