Back in the days of irrational exuberance, the thought of a Dow Jones hitting 50,000 was commonplace. Then, as the market slumped and investors lost their zeal, the idea became ludicrous. With recent developments occurring in the market, it seems like the talk might start up again. Today the Dow Jones hit 14,000 for the first time.

he Dow Jones industrial average swept past 14,000 for the first time Tuesday following a relatively mild inflation report and a wave of generally upbeat earnings reports.

The stock market’s best-known indicator crossed 14,000 in the first half-hour of trading, rising to 14,002.60 and having taken just 57 trading days to make the trip from 13,000.

Right now it looks like the bulls are back, and leading the charge.

Are you feeling bullish about the stock market?
