The dollar has been battered for quite some time. The dollar has had a slight rebound, but the same issues that have been plaguing it haven't left yet. The credit crisis is the main concern keeping the dollar near its' all time low.

Traders were hoping for better news than the quarter point Fed rate cut they received. They were hoping for a larger cut to stimulate spending, but now they have to live with the fact that oil prices are at record highs, and a lot of the economic news coming ...

The beleaguered consumer is feeling the pinch. The housing downturn and the credit crunch have conspired to slow consumer spending in September. The Fed has been pushing rate cuts with the idea that it would entice consumer to borrow/spend even more. So far that hasn't happened.
