With increased popularity of Hedge Funds, particularly in the US, Hedge Fund conferences are also gaining ground overseas. HEDGE 2005, is being organized by UK based IRC, a premier Hedge Fund event manager. IRC will be holding a Hedge Fund conference in Hotel Dorchester at London in October of 2005. According to them… “Following last year’s event, the afternoon session will feature a choice of 3 streams with more than 50 speakers over the 2 days. We are again planning to include not just a cocktail reception but also a seated 4 course gala dinner, thus expanding the networking opportunities available at the event. We expect demand to be high and are targeting around 400-450 attendants for this year’s event, basing on the total of 400 delegates last year”.
“Our Hedge Fund conferences” continues the event managers, “attract an unusually high ratio of investors and it is our intention to build on this aspect and develop it further. Therefore, 2 of the 3 streams will be aimed at investors with the 3rd stream focusing on Hedge Fund business development and practices”. Explaining the event further they added, “The 2 investor streams will be pitched at different levels. The first stream, named ‘Hedged Academy’ will be aimed at less advanced investors, particularly Pension Funds who are likely to invest predominantly in funds of Hedge Funds or Investable Hedge Fund Indices. The second investor stream will be pitched at a more advanced level, aimed at asset allocators, endowments, foundations, family offices and other institutional investors who invest in Single Strategy Hedge Funds.
