Based on the offer in the movie "The Godfather", a Godfather offer is an offer that can't be refused. The deal is so attractive that management of the company being targeted for takeover is afraid to turn it down for fear of being the subject of a shareholder lawsuit. Luckily, the offer doesn't involved any horse heads in bed.
