Verizon Wireless Names New COO

Verizon Wireless just announced that Jack Plating has been named Chief Operating Officer. He will begin his position on January 1, 2007.

“Jack has been a key player in Verizon Wireless’ growth and performance since the company was launched more than six years ago,” McAdam said. “His leadership, operational expertise and focus on delivering a superior customer experience have helped Verizon Wireless achieve industry leading results in a highly competitive environment.”

Plating will report to Lowell McAdam, who was recently named president and chief executive officer of Verizon Wireless. He will be in charge of overseeing sales as well as customer service operations, product development and marketing.
