Today's scarey short....Today's scarey short....

Market overreacted to a "general blurb" about BUD's capabilities yesterday and rose dramatically with little to back it up... While I never, ever count out the King of Beers.... I'm putting in a short term "short" at $41.95 for today. Don't actually expect it to execute... but those are usually the good ones when they do.
Of course, I'm covered with a "long" position in another account in the event it doesn't work out... and I don't even remotely suggest anyone else follow this lead.........."

With a stock like BUD, where the sky is actually the limit - I prefer to protect a short with a long, rather than protect a long with a short - if that makes sense......
It means, I"m happy with my "long position"..... but think the stock will dip, short term. However, I'm not confident enough in my perspective that I'm willing to sell my long position and buy in later - so I short a couple of shares or so......... and see what happens. I've always got my "long" for protection and don't care if the value of my holding goes down.... as I know it will, without a doubt, eventually go back up...
By the way....... the "scarey short" obviously didn't happen today....."

I wouldn't short in this market, unless something like DRIV."
