Going public

misterjover said: "What steps must a firm take to go public, and what requirements are necessary? I see alot of firms out there who bleed through shareholder dollars with absolutely no concern for the consequences of their actions. I also find some firms out there with no products or services, and they still persist to sell their shares and stay in business. Amazing. Ridiculous. Other than the 5-12% floatation fee that investment bankers charge to go public, what other costs are involved with such a venture? Does anyone work for a firm who has gone public recently or is anyone familiar with this process? :)"

In fact, we are a lean, mean, profit hogging machine comprised of no more than 3 employees and over 60 independent contractors. :) We will be using investor funds to gobble up acres of empty or distressed lots in Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego county which will be landscaped and used for the constuction of new residential properties. In addition, we will continue transacting cash-out refis for additions and listings as usual. Fortunately, at the rate our constuction group operates with individual residential projects, we are able to turn property around in less than 6 months, bringing our investors with positive gains within a year. Plus, we plan on purchasing a major stake in Vlado Footwear, a privately-held national shoe wholesaler in LA that designs and markets shoes and apparel manufactured in China. The reason why we are doing this is because we have direct access to major urban influences in Hollywood and the Valley, which control popular night clubs and are major centerpoints of commerce. The exposure and sales volume that we can produce through there is unfathomable. Our subsidiary will either be purchased by a big-brand competitor with a serious bid, or we will capitalize on our own mass marketing campaign which will span across the country throughout the urban masses."

Either you will have big plans of your own or you will fall into someone else's big plans. :)"

They currently have over 500 retail clients who are selling more of their brand than any other, and with their current exposure in the fashion industry, they are on the verge of becoming a trend-maker in the urban arena. Next week, I'll be shopping for broker-dealers and investment bankers who will be able to guide us through the ipo process at a reasonable price."
