I am a total newbie to trading stocks. Although I have an etrade account with a few stocks (all of which have gained atleast 80% in value), I don't know much about making REAL money in the market.
I'm currently reading a book by wade cook "stock market miracles"
I was wondering:
1. how many of you trade stocks/options as your full time "job" ?
2. what books/courses do you recommend for a newbie?
3. any good internet sites I should go check out?
Thanks all"

This is strictly a hobby for me. I can't think of a more stressful job that trying to "beat the market" every day.
Check out any of the books by "Peter Lynch" like "Beating the Street". He gives a great overview of stock buying.
For websites check out http://finance.yahoo.com and http://stock-market.superiorinvestor.net for basic investment info."

Congrats on your trading so far. An 80% return is pretty impressive.
I do not trade stocks for a living, either. It sounds way too stressful to have to do every day. I look more for quality stocks that I can hold for a while to get returns."

I don't do this for a living...
I enjoy it too much... to hold something for a long long time and beating the ods of the pros ;)
