I'm only 24, don't have that much to start investing, but would like to start off somewhere. What would be the best place to start off doing that?"

They have $7 commissions. Or you can do http://www.sharebuilder.com if you want to put money aside in small amounts weekly."
dmorand said: "$7 for each stock I buy? I do have a sharebuilder account. Maybe that's my best bet."
AlfredSokol said: "Yeah, because you add money weekly for very small fees. That's worth it for systematic savings."

However, I do not recommend Sharebuilder for daytrading. You are probably better off with Scottrade, any of the Ameritrade brokers, or TD.
Good luck!"
HappyHarry said: "Yeah. Sharebuilder kills you on fees. As a matter of fact, they kill you on paperwork too.
If you sell the stocks within a year, you have to add all the partial share purchases in order to figure out your purchase price. It can be a pain, plus the commissions on a trade are super-high."
