I don't have any personal experience but I have an acquaintance
who's been using them for a while (few months I guess) and he's very happy"

I am just trialling it out. I think it is a useful tool. It is very mechanical in some ways and additional research is needed on a stock to get the fine detail and the insider info, etc. But as a general screener of stocks to keep one on track I think it is good.
Of courtse a lot depends on the market. I notice that the founder of the site is saying lately that he is so scared of what another massive terrorist attack can do to the market that he is using an options tool called collard (?) to mitigate the risk.
Does anyone know what he is talking about? Does anyone have experience with options and VectorVest?"

The last thing I fear about a "massive terrorist attack" is my portfolio. :o"

I'd love to know what stocks you have that are immune to a severe downturn, like that of 9/11 or similar."

Try to find records of what the markets did when they reopened after 9/11. Look for the most actives & top gainers. This would give you an excellent indication. I'm not sure where to find this though. A search in Google might serve you well. You could also screen the stocks yourself by looking at the charts of the "best of breed" companies from each sector. That'll take a bid more time though."

Actually, it's not that I consider my portfolio immune to any resulting downturn, it's that I would not care about money with thousands of people around me dying. :(
