Then watched it jump up to around 7.00. What do you think of the long term possibilities of this company? I personally think it looks very promising."

Avernus said: "also, a company working with them, Digital Angel Corp (DOC) http://www.digitalangelcorp.com/"

lil dickie said: "I like the Applied Digital. Got to enjoy the 37.9% Gross Profit margin. Plus I love the fact they're in the security sector."

lil dickie said: "Definitely nice. I like the price point of the stock for ADSX I'm wondering where the big losses for DOC came from."

Avernus said: "
I like the Applied Digital. Got to enjoy the 37.9% Gross Profit margin. Plus I love the fact they're in the security sector.
exactly, another stock that is in security/biometrics is Saflink Corp., but it's just a little late to start on that one IMO....they've been buzzing the newswire lately...I jumped on that for a little bit before the market opened yesterday...even though it was a little late then even...I might try to see that one over some distance.."

AlfredSokol said: "It seems that DOC holds a patent to a human-tracking system. I think the potential market is big for an application like that. If the system is relatively non-intrusive people might find good use to that. The animal tracking is getting more popular as well."

I was just wondering if this might be something out of a pipe dream "

alhamid said: "sometimes even if the technology is good the product still doesnt sell"

Avernus said: "
sometimes even if the technology is good the product still doesnt sell
true, ADSX is supposed to be involved with the national ID cards, military, security prisons and etc... so it's at least promising, alot of biometric based companies out there are blatant shots in the dark, but I still think the jury is still out on this one... I'll just hope it goes down a bit more so I can put a decent chunk on it.."

lil dickie said: "The security sector can stay hot for at least 10 years, if not longer. The threats out there aren't going anywhere."

Avernus said: "Instead of starting a new thread, I'll just add it here.... What do you think of.....the long term possibilities of Sirius Satellite Radio? (SIRI) It's currently at 5.988 and has closed at this price... I think this stock has serious potential to reach around 50.00 a share, if not more....does anyone disagree?...I'm interested in your input... I noticed it was around 65.00 in 2000, does anyone know what they were involved in at that time?...right now, I see them and (XMSR) putting analog radio out of it's misery and taking over.....at least until cheaper-copycat versions come out..."

HappyHarry said: "This is one we've talked about a lot on here. The things I like: 1) Satellite radio is run by a duopoly, so very little competition is expected 2) It offers a nice product for people who are into radio What I don't like: 1) Sirius seems to have little fiscal responsibility 2) I think a lot of people WILL NOT pay for something that's always been free"

IMO, they should link up with DTV or a similar company and offer both cable and radio services, this way the market will likely expand for them.....but that is just food for thought.."

HappyHarry said: "One thing that helps them is they have the car makers pushing it. That should help a bit."

BarbBQ said: "looks like an interesting pick. security is important to everyone. being able to track down lost or stolen pets/cars/airplanes can't hurt."

Avernus said: "
One thing that helps them is they have the car makers pushing it. That should help a bit.
that's right, I almost forgot about that...not to mention they have Howard Stern exclusively... I think they'll start a service of .09 a month (if not free) to those who want it with commercials and do not want to pay any more...and then offer for something like .99 a month for those who want it commercial-free... they'll come up with something I think..."

AlfredSokol said: "But they plan on paying Howard Stern 1/2 billion dollars and they don't make any money!"

Avernus said: "
But they plan on paying Howard Stern 1/2 billion dollars and they don't make any money!
ahah...how much is he making, seriously? I hope that number wasn't accurate.."

BarbBQ said: "the low fee/ free option won't help. they still have to pay for the satellites and any upkeep/maintenance, which i would imagine can't be cheap."
