Site offers free Level II quotes...Site offers free Level II quotes...
joshuakulpa said: "Hi! My name is Joshua Kulpa, and I wanted to tell you quickly about our website: www.SmallCapEngine.com. We offer FREE Level II quotes and stock information, as well as in-depth exposure for our featured strong-growth companies.
I am the systems administrator for the site, and I'm doing my best to let everyone know about who we are and what we can offer:
First, let me state that this is **not** a solicitation, as we do not make any money off of anyone who comes to our site - the information we provide at SmallCapEngine.com is provided FREE to you, the user.
What we are :
- A great site for FREE in-depth market information and news.
- A great addition to your due-diligence toolbox. We provide information that no one else can bring you about the companies we feature. Get the full story before investing!
- We at SmallCapEngine.com are trying our best to match savvy investors with solid small-cap companies. Our goal is to help you the investor sort through all the nonsense and hype to get at real companies with real product that can turn real profit on investments.
- An investment relations supplement -- we do not represent these companies, we just advertise them. At SmallCapEngine.com, we know that due-diligence is hard. Our goal simply is to help you make the smartest decisions for your hard-earned money, by providing as much information as we can about our featured companies.
What we are not :
- We are not a pump-and-dump operation. We get paid a set fee to advertise our featured companies for a certain length of time - whether or not you invest in them is entirely up to you.
- We are not spammers. We respect our user base, and as such only send out regular newsletters detailing our newest advertisers and features. We REFUSE to fill anyone's mail-box with "BUY NOW NOW NOW!!! HOT STOCK!!!" crap.
- We are not fortune-tellers. We make no guarantees on any companies we feature - we've simply done our best to provide the best companies we can find to get you started in your due-diligence process.
Interested? Check us out at www.smallcapengine.com! If you have any questions, feel free to email me at josh@smallcapengine.com
**Note** - I've posted this same message in as many places as is reasonable - we're trying very hard to get our name out to as many investors as we possibly can. I'll be checking the forums about once a week or so to answer any questions you may have about our site. However, we want most of all to be respectful to our audience and the members of this forum. If you feel this message does not belong on this forum, please send me an email, and I will contact the systems administrator immediately to have it removed.
Thanks in advance for any feedback you may have!

He's refreshingly up front about the content of his new forum. "We promote nothing - simply offer information about companies that pay to have that information presented"
I've no suggestions other than a name change.... to "SPAM.com"."
joshuakulpa said: "You know what, in retrospect you are absolutely correct. I need to apoligize - I'm new to the whole matter of online marketing, and this was in poor taste. I'll have the administrators take this thread down immediately.
Thanks for your comment, and for not lambasting me too bad. :)

Please remove this thread from the General Discussion forum. I sincerely apoligize for the inconvienience, and hope I haven't offended too many with my over-exuberance to get our name out there.
Thanks to TheZster for his replies and help in fixing this. :)

Rickster said: "I think we ought to make an exception and let the thread stay up. I like his approach and hey, I'm sure their are a lot of guys willing to tolerate some advertisements in return for free L2 quotes."
thezster said: "The originator of this post has been extremely polite and apologetic - both in this forum and in the e-mails we have exchanged on the subject. I, for one, have no issue leaving the link alive - just wanted to make sure everyone understands what the web site is about....
We'll have to leave it in the hands of the moderator gods..... (heather, you listening?)"
Rickster said: "It just occured to me that these guys are advertising. Maybe a more fair option would be to set up some kind of agreement that entitles them to put a banner on the site in return for paying a nominal advertising fee. Or set up a vendor sub forum. The way I see it, they are offering a service that some of our members (current and future) may be interested in. I see it in the same light as vendors advertising car parts on a car forum. Just thinking out loud."
thezster said: "Now you're talkin like management.... "Where can we squeeze another dime"... :D ;)
My perspective is - if left alone, this thread will die a normal death within a few days.... regardless of the fact that the originator seemed earnest, honest, and forthright. Not having checked out his website - I don't know if the "ad space" is worth the trade off for free LII quotes (which I get free anyway so could care less). All that being said, you're right - an advertiser such as they are - would seem to have much more "long term" success by working out a "standing banner" on the various forums. "FREE LII's - just put up with a few pop-ups" (that you might discover some new MS/GOOG from).."

That's exactly what he wants you to think. Pure psych job."

Would that I could be so crafty. :) As it is, this was an honest mistake made by me, an over-exuberant young guy trying to do right by my company. Honestly, I feel it would be best that the administrators take this down ASAP, so as not to set a bad example, if nothing else.
Thanks for the kind posts - my apoligies again to the administrators, who have to deal with this.

Ooops, that was in bad taste, mods delete this post, but if anyone wants to paypal me a smaller lot of money to try to save any Nigerian princes if they were to be kidnapped then I will establish a fund and when those princes get freed I will send you the coins. Sorry, again, admins for having to deal with this, for this was in bad taste. My paypal still works though.
 :D"
