What determines the stock's price and what are the factors that cause a stock to go up or down? Is it as simple as when the company makes money, the stock goes up and vice versa, or is it more complex then that?"

In a very liquid stock, the price is the consensus of all expert opinions, at that time. Generally stock prices are related to what people think the future earnings of the company will be."
