Share Volume

Gene said: "What is share volume? Is it how many shares of a stock there are in total? I would imagine with a penny stock, the share volume would be bought out very quickly if that was the case."

HappyHarry said: "Yes, they can all be bought. In that case, the company is taken over. Check out the info in the Yahoo Profiles You'll see every company has its "market cap" listed. The market cap is the amount of outstanding shares times the current share price. This is what it would take to buy the company outright."
