Value Investing in 2005

AlfredSokol said: "
Biopure said it expects cash on hand to fund operations until January 2006 and noted that it is currently conducting two mid-stage clinical trials and supplying the Food and Drug Administration with information on its Hemopure oxygen therapeutic.
Are either of those products likely to make it out of FDA testing?"

lost said: "let me be more specific it is looking good for short therm investing. as long as u get rid of it before the dump if it dosnt get approved you will make some money. but they have been working on these products for years so u would hope they got there shit together to get it approved."

AlfredSokol said: "LOL. So what are you basing your decision on? The charts?"

lost said: "i bought this at .36 and sold at .62 while it was dipping down to .54. they just sold 40 million shares to get their funding and will continue to run. they have many long term holders to keep the stock up and have funding from the US navy backing them. they are aproved in South Africa and i thought i read it was approved in Europe( or is in a late stage of gettin aproved) they are the only company now selling artificial blood. if the FDA wasnt so scared of approvin things now i would say this was a very strong long term stock. but the OLD managment wasnt very good with handling the company now with the NEW mangament they should be able to pick up they pieces."

AlfredSokol said: "So you track the news on them and look for momentum?"

lost said: "basically...but i think the run isnt over Like i have said many times BPUR was my first stock to own so i really dont know to much about stocks."

AlfredSokol said: "Cool. I'll do some research on them and see what I can find out."

lost said: "in the old fourms i had a thred on BPUR and i know some others made money."

That equates to .22 per share based on the date of this original post. For the quarter ended July 31, 2005, the company reported a net loss of $6.4 million, or $0.26 per common share, compared with a net loss of $9.4 million, or $1.16 per common share, for the corresponding period in 2004. The loss per common share for the third quarter of fiscal 2004 has been adjusted to reflect the reverse split. Most of its revenue comes from the Army, fyi. Total revenues for the first nine months of fiscal 2005 were $1.8 million, including $827,000 from the Army, compared to $2.0 million almost entirely from Oxyglobin sales in the same nine months of 2004. Interesting to watch, but I'd not be a buyer any time soon."

Hopefully as I post what the institutions are doing, and how the professional money managers spot value stocks, and I post those stocks, more people will learn if they research the picks. As for Krispy Kreme, if we didn't know what I know we know, it would be an excellent value pick if it wasn't for that 1 pesky indicator... yeah... the P/E... but I know we know why the P/E is so high... Ok, I know I'm perverse, a real sicko, but take a look at MRKL.OB... and excellent value pick if it wasn't for that 1 pesky indicator... yeah... the P/E... but I know why it is they way it is and let me say this is NOT a recommendation to buy this stock... Damn thing nearly took my head off (jumped out for a 20% loss, and the stock fell another 90% after that)... sort of like my jumping out of GDVE.PK right before the trading was frozen... (it's better to be lucky than good).."
