Coal opportunity

JAP said: "I've been paying lots of attention to commodities lately. I noticed that coal has been getting hammered lately. :dazed052: Most coal stocks are at their YTD lows. If you're a bottom feeder (i.e. value player) like me. You might want to take a look at some of these... I know I am. :th_coolio:"

We're hearing how the "mild winter" is affecting oil stocks currently.... and the public (and investors alike) can't seem to remember all those years when, out of the blue, it got - and stayed - cold, cold, cold......"

Corey said: "I hope it doesn't get cold. Its 50 out today, and I am loving it. I think I am actually going to go out for a run... Plus, if you want snow, that is what ski houses in Vail are for  In all seriousness, this might be a good long term play. Coal isn't getting any more common -- just like crude. If the winter takes a turn for the worse, then prices could certainly increase. At worst, you hold until the next cold winter. Then again, I don't know much about commodities."

JAP said: "
Can you plz suggest us some good Coal industry shares.
There are plenty of them. Check yahoo finance... very easy to do."

I think I am actually going to go out for a run...
Ironically, it's the burning of those fossil fuels that's making it 50 degrees in the middle of January! Anyway, coal is a great commodity to jump in. It's trades like oil but, is currently cheaper."

Mr. Gekko said: "
Anyone want to buy the lump of it from my Christmas stocking?
It'll turn into a diamond if you hang onto it long enough."

crankitdb711 said: "
It'll turn into a diamond if you hang onto it long enough.
I think I'm depreciating too fast for that. :sad010:"

thezster said: "
It'll turn into a diamond if you hang onto it long enough.
Nope.. it needs time AND intense pressure... he would have to stick it up his ass while trading to accomplish both at the same time...:signs053:"

JAP said: "Anybody check out this sector this morning? :th_coolio:"

Mr. Gekko said: "
Nope.. it needs time AND intense pressure... he would have to stick it up his ass while trading to accomplish both at the same time...:signs053:
LMAO! That'll probably be the funniest thing I'll hear all day!:th_SmlyROFL:"

Mr. Gekko said: "
Did you Know diamonds are not stable they will turn back into coal. I bet DEBEERS never told anyone about this. It only takes a million years Or high temperatures
yep... diamonds ain't forever!"

drumcat said: "Diamond is a polymorph of the element carbon. Graphite is another polymorph. The two share the same chemistry, carbon, but have very different structures and properties. Diamond is hard, Graphite is soft (the "lead" of a pencil). Diamond is an excellent electrical insulator, Graphite is a good conductor of electricity. Diamond is the ultimate abrasive, Graphite is a very good lubricant. Diamond is transparent, Graphite is opaque. Diamond crystallizes in the Isometric system and graphite crystallizes in the hexagonal system. Somewhat of a surprise is that at surface temperatures and pressures, Graphite is the stable form of carbon. In fact, all diamonds at or near the surface of the Earth are currently undergoing a transformation into Graphite. This reaction, fortunately, is extremely slow. your right how would they know:whacky011:"

They have a substantial portion of their contracts set to expire that they should be able to renegogiate for a 20-25% higher price. This should add to their bottom line nicely. Trading near its 52 week low now so beginning to look tasty to me. Might jump in soon."
