What is your average trade size?

AlfredSokol said: "Mine is between $6,000 - $10,000. I found I just couldn't make money on any other amount. This is a bit of a "sweet spot" for me. What is your average trade size, and why?"

WellsTrader said: "3-5k because thats all I can afford to invest or lose on a given day."

AlfredSokol said: "That's still a good sized trade. And it gives you leeway where you can buy 100 lots of $30-$50 companies. Those are usually some excellent trades."

ToastMonger said: "Lol I'm like $250. I'm hardcore poor."

HappyHarry said: "At $250 the commission costs must be overwhelming. Can't you go shovel some driveways or something and at least double that?"

WellsTrader said: "I hate commission fees. I trade 3-5k everytime and still pay almost 25 bucks a trade. Does anyone know a good place for me to take my business. I am getting a little sick of Wells Fargo and all there fees. The kind of havea monoply on the midwest banks where I am from. Well.... them, and US Bank."

HappyHarry said: "Scottrade has $7 market orders and many, many branches. I've always enjoyed them and Ameritrade Both very good online discount brokers."

WellsTrader said: "What about etrade, what are they like?"

misterjover said: "$2-4k per trade with TD, and I pay about 10 per trade."

ToastMonger said: "
Can't you go shovel some driveways or something and at least double that?
Shovel what? I live in Phoenix, we were amazed to get a quarter of an inch of rain. The hail last week was front page news."

AlfredSokol said: "
What about etrade, what are they like?
E-Trade had a very nice interface, but I believe they're a bit more money, like $20 each way. They have some nice tools in the account, though."
