Exercise Style for stocksExercise Style for stocks
roarflolo said: "For indices I've been looking up the specs at the CBOE web page, but where can I find the exercise style for the individual stock options? And does it depend on the exchange?"
Rickster said: "To the best of my knowledge, all US stock options have the same exercise style. I know that European exchanges use a different style, but I have never played in that game. Off hand, I dont remember where you look to be sure."
holzie said: "All US stocks have American style exercise, which means that they can be exercised anytime. Indexes such as the SPX, NDX, RUT...have the cash settletled European exercise style which means that they can only be exercised/settled on the expiration day. Hope it helped."
