Do any of you follow the investment style of "the dogs of the Dow" or the highest paying dividend companies in the S&P? Also, as an aside, I came across a company (PCU) Company that mines Copper in Peru that pays a 10.5% dividend ($5.21). I assume this company is very speculative,I believe they are trying to appeal to new investors with the large dividend which would offset some of the speculative risk. They have moved up from the mid-30s up to $50. What are your guys thoughts? Either way, you have to admit it is an apealing diviend."

StockFreak said: "They resolved some issues with credit early in the year and where able to have a great Q (based on analyst est.). Seems like its a solid investment (3.9% yield), however like Harry mentioned you may have missed the larger part of the incline already because of saturation and /or ability to expand efficiently (NCC annual )"

Thoughts?"
StockFreak said: "I wish i could give you a good pick but the intrest rate enviroment makes it a little imprudent."
HappyHarry said: "Banking is such a diverse industry nowadays.
It seems to me that local or regional banks are more profitable than the multi-nationals overall, and also have smaller floats and therefore greater chance for fast appreciation of the stock price."
StockFreak said: "I disagree Harry, the only thing holding up the financials is the yield at this point. PNC,BAC,WFC,WB,C all weaker than the estimates but the stocks didnt go down, or just marginally. Is it only a matter of time? I believe so "
