TMTA...potential buyout prospect?

Dubs said: "Ok, here is what I have found about Transmeta Corporation.... TMTA is a computer technology company that specializes in efficiency in power management for computers. The company stirred excitement for investors when it went public in 2000. However, the hype was not lived up to as big rival Intel seemed to be taking all the business. Since then, TMTA has really been going down. The company did not have enough cash flow this year, and the first quarter losses were up to 18.7 M, compared to their previous years first quarter losses of 1.6 million. Also, in April of this year, Transmeta had to fire 75 of its employees, leaving it now only with 65 employees. On July 11th, Transmeta announced plans to sell $50 million in stock, most likely because they need the money for all the cash they have been losing. The stock price is currently at $.70 / share, which also warrants a risk of getting kicked off NASDAQ, as they are below the $1 mark. Another big story associated with this stock is AMD's investment of $7.5 M in TMTA. Before TMTA announced their sale of $50 Million in stock, AMD ( a fellow computer technology company, a main competitor of Trasnmeta and Intel ) invested $7.5 Million into TMTA ( about 6% ownership of TMTA ), which is said to help them come out with their energy efficient products coming out soon. Also with the large investment, AMD is said to have proffered stock in the company, but I dont think this means too much. With TMTA and AMD teaming up, I think it shows that they are trying to take a stand against rival Intel. By investing the $7.5 Million into TMTA, I think that this is showing AMD's faith that TMTA will be around a while. As you can see, Im still torn on this one. So, what do you think....TMTA will get bought out, TMTA will continue to suck, or TMTA and AMD will both do well and start to hurt Intel?"
