The nest quarters earnings will tell the story on their growth and momentum Zack. Of course research before you buy any penny stock. Its about believing the story. How do they make money? About Growth and positive asset accumulation. And yes, they are risky."

Most people don't realize how truly risky pennies are.... Hence, it comes natural to make fun of those seeking wisdom in this arena.... My only advice... take any advice on pennies given over the internet with a huge (distasteful) grain of salt. Pennies are gambling - pure n simple.... I have to admit - I did extremely well on pennies when I started trading - but that was in the dot com era when everyone and his brother was starting a company (penney) - and expectations were, if it had to do with the internet - it would do well... I do not, pure and simple, play them any more..."

I honestly thought the question was vague. I was hoping to make him a better poster and investor by making him work a bit."

The vast majority of us recognize that pennies are what they are - the land of speculation/gambling/pump n dump....... Sure there are a couple of diamonds in the rough - but you're not going to find them on the internet forums pumping various stocks in an effort to make the pumpers a couple of bucks...... Looking for "Jesus in a penney" is the quickest way to lose your holdings.... though it is cool to be able to tell your friends that you bought 200,000 shares of a stock this morning.... ( as long as you don't have to tell them that you sold that 200,000 shares for a 10 - 40% loss)"

LongArm said: "
Diversifying your risk with Pennies is not that crazy at all.
LOL, I don't think I'd call adding pennies to the portfolio diversifying your risk--more like, you're adding to your risk. And to me, the humorous part of Zako's question is not that it's about pennies (well, okay, maybe that too), but that he's asking that ubiquitous newbie question "what's the best (stock)?" According to my count, there are 147 definitions of "best" when it comes to stocks. BTW, no offense to Zako. We were all newbies once."

AlfredSokol said: "As long as the stocks are talked about from both angles (good and bad) I think they its okay. But you have to recognize that they are a good bit riskier than many other types of investments. A question like "whats the best one"? is almost begging for trouble."

Agreed - no offense to Zako.... and I hope he is able to discern the crap from the crapola..."

Knowing that some great companies began their rise as low-priced stocks, can I realistically expect huge potential gain with these penny stocks? Thanks."

Go back into history and check out how many penny stocks there were when MS was at $1. Then check out how many of those are in existence today............. and of those that still exist - how many are still penny stocks trading at or below those prices of the day... Sure dude, there are those that will skyrocket over time - but for every single one of those - there are hundreds/thousands that will never, ever go anywhere. It's about odds when playing (gambling) on penny stocks. How many losers can you stand before you find that one winner - and - when you do find it - how long can you stand to hold it before you get greedy and dump it. I would venture to guess that there is not a single holder of MS at $1 left in the entire world other than the founders of the company (if them)"
