Cryogenix said: "CRYolife - trading at 8.16 right now after getting slammed hard the past couple days on bad earnings. Also took a $4+ hit around the beginning of July, down from the $14 range. P/E is a little higher than I'd like, but everything else looks good.
Had been swing trading this thing until it took a strange hit a few days ago (prior to earnings release) and then just kept sinking. Seems like a perfect time to get in at this level, provided it doesn't sink below 8.05.
You decide...

It dipped below the dreaded 8.05 point yesterday and then plummeted to 7.61.
Today, it went as low as 7.60 and charged back to close up 1.03. Still plenty of play left in this stock to go up."

A .44 gain on the day, with a high of 9.13. The stock is back in its original sweet spot (the high side) of where it used to cycle up to 9.75 before reporting earnings.
Since the stock had already been beaten $5+ from July, I'd still consider it a good play at this level, up to 9.60, where a pullback is most likely to occur."

A steady climber on a red day that closed near the high of the day of 9.28.
It's been on a very good run lately and pulled back at 9.52 yesterday and then returned to its usual high sweet spot of 9.05 - its low sweet spot typically being around 8.85.
Advancing on low volume, I don't see any reason why - aside from market or news influence - this stock won't keep climbing to 10.00 - although, as tomorrow is a Friday, I could see it bumping 9.60 again and pulling back.
I don't see any immediate resistence to prevent a continued climb next week..
.
Friday after close update:
Last - 8.89 (high of 9.82)
At its low sweet spot, things are perfectly positioned to for a breakthru of its 52-week high next week. Unless the stock acts abnormally next week or gets rocked by bad news or decides not to be contrarian on red days, next week should see some nice gains and new highs..
.
Whoops...sorry about that. I was thinking of CIA's 52-week high from another thread. CRY is in no danger of setting any 52-week highs."

It's been performing its usual cycle and is a predictable swing trade.
The chart is still favoring a climb (but just barely), and I'm curious to see what will happen if we get another deep red day like today."
Cryogenix said: "Last: 9.56 (high 9.62, low 9.39)
The stock has been consolidating (or flat-channeling) for over a month now, and today's chart looks to show it ready to make a better climb as volume has been gradually improving and today it closed higher than any previous session in the past two months.
Keep your eye on it. It looks ready to move up."

Nice activity today with some unsually larger buys on above-average volume.
Since it had been consolidating for such a long time, I'd expect a much greater climb."

Ouch! As I mentioned in another thread, I kept seeing one good-sized buy after another, followed by a 100-share sell which kept bringing the price down. I feel today was total manipulation by the MM, to get people to sell for a loss or at least confuse them so they doubt their position and will not benefit from what might be a very positive day for this stock tomorrow, when (hopefully) the rate cut is announced.
It went lower than usual, which does concern me, and is now below its low sweet spot, and all this on high volume which appeared to me to be comprised mainly of 500-3000 buys."

There was an article yesterday on stocks that institutions are now buying into, and CRY was in the Top 5. And the day before an article on how the company's Bioglue will be included in Hernia kits. http://biz.yahoo.com/prnews/070917/clm101.html?.v=39
A few moments ago, someone bought an 87,000+ block around the 8.71 range."

In my opinion, the chart is now set up for a major upward move. The fact that it went down after it was mentioned in that article and after the Bioglue PR just tells me the MM didn't want anyone to take for granted that this stock would automatically go up.
It was in somewhat of consolidation for the latter part of the day on average volume, which is actually above-average given what I usually see on this thing."

This stock can't seem to take a punch, these days. I don't know what to make of it, except for a heavy shakedown before a climb. I got back in today @ 8.47 on that early-afternoon climb and figured it was a good spot, so I left for lunch. Came back to find my position was bitch-slapped... :(
Ended the day in consolidation, so I'm not worried. But another red day like today could send it to 7.80 (or if the MM just wants to keep messing with us). In the end, it's a solid longtermer anyway.
This is my last update. No point keeping it alive since it already did what it was going to do, and isn't making any huge gains to bother keeping it alive. I'll keep playing it up and down, on the off-chance it reverts to being a swinger, although I'm hoping to hold this for steady gains.
Hope some of you made some money. :)"

Closed popping new highs on fair volume. Looks good for tomorrow.
Square, I haven't shorted a stock since around May, when I got schooled by MTRX. Up to that point, I was doing well, but then came to dislike the obvious hazards of naked shorting, especially since the MM's have so much power over the directon of the stock. If the market gets really bad, I'll probably go back to shorting, but doing it in this current state is too risky and very unnecessary given that number of stocks a trader can play up and profit from."
