Need Help to understand the USA´s TradersNeed Help to understand the USA´s Traders
boribon_jp_1a6 said: "Hi , recently I moved my account at ING Bank in Spain to Zecco´s in the EEUU, but when I open the main windows to star my operations, I get the surprise for the appearance of new phrases that I don’t know exactly where they come from, in fact, I’ve been calculating the numbers and I don’t get the point.
The account that I opened with them was an Individual, I will put here the real number to see if someone can help me to understand where the red numbers come from.
In the Positions´tab, I bought: 39 TMTA at 7.94$ = 309.66$ as a market value for this, besides, I bought 177 SMTC at 2.47$ = 436.75$ too, the total of the market value for this is = 746.41$ (309.66+436.75), until here I understand.
Now, when I go to Balance´s tab, here the problem begin, appears the Market Value = 757.50 $, why?, why is it not the 746.41$??.
The Total Equity = 710.58$ where is this come from??.
The Maint. Excess = 121.00$ why this number?, I searched at Google the meaning of this point and I don’t understand why I have it in my account if I opened an Individual account and not a margin, even thought, I left the possibility in the future to have a Margin, but I don’t want to use any margin even my account is below 2000$ required.
I’m seeing that the Buying Power = 242.00$, it means, twice the Maint Excess before, what is it means, may I use this amount of money to buy something?.
I don’t want to use any borrowed money from this broker, I don’t want to pay any fee for this concept, so, I ask, what is the money that I need to use to buy more equities, the number that appears at the Cash Balance?
What is the borrowed money that offer the broker, the number that appears at the Buying Power?
By the way, my actual broker is Zecco.com
Thanks"

If that fails try calling them."

Rbreb13 said: "I don't use Zecco and am not familiar with some of their terms or platform. I guess you'll need to wait for someone that uses Zecco for more help.
The balances tab might be showing yeaterdays prices and values rather than the current you see in the Main. Just a guess.
Sorry I can't be of more help."
