Comparing brokers, do I really need the best?

LiquidCrystal said: "Hello, I wanted to open a stock trading account and already decided to go with Ameritrade as my favorite one. However, I found this interesting article at http://www.fool.com/dbc/dbc.htm which compared other brokers such as ShareBuilder, HARRISdirect, and others. That article really made me wonder if I made the right choice. I'm not arguing the quality of Ameritrade, but my point is that I believe that all the minimum acceptable features and money gurantee must be available in all services, for example no worry of losing my money or getting robbed with any of them, so we have a minimum acceptable level in all. It was interesting for example to know that Harris Direct charges $7.95 for orders while Ameritrade $10.99 which could save for people who do many transactions. I'd really appreciate your opinions and I hope to hear which broker you recommend. Thanx, LC"
