Does Anyone Have a Managed Forex Account?

Maverick Investor said: "I've traded forex on my own account for years, but it's a pain in the ass when you really don't want to be staring at a screen all day. Plus, I recently had a revelation. I've been saying for a while now that the tools available to me now, at low cost (trading platforms, charting packages and so on) were, just a decade ago or less, available ONLY to professional brokers, and they paid small fortunes for them. And that's great. My revelation, though, or realisation, was this - if I've got what they had ten years ago, then presumably they've now got stuff that's five years ahead of what I've got! And I'm right - super-fast connectivity and platforms, plus automatic trading systems that run 24 hours a day with little human intervention - though these are only used by some brokers, and for some strategies. So, I'm still way behind the curve - and i'm getting bored with it. I'm going to find myself a good broker to manage a forex account for me, and I'll happily pay a percentage of whatever s/he makes for me. My question is - do YOU have a managed forex account? And would you recommend them to a complete stranger on a forum?? For the record, I want to see three years results, month by month, with documentation to back it up if required. I also want to know who is the person making the decisions, and do the results correlate with his or her presence? And I'm looking for 3% - 6% a month, on average. Cheers!"

maxorelaxo said: "I don't have a managed account but based on your needs it seems like you might be wise to go with some automated systems and fine tune them according to your money management practices. I know it can be risky (and scary) to trade with systems, but based on my results I'm confident if you do your due diligence and choose the right one you will wind up ahead by a long shot - and it doesn't require your constant attention (good thing if you cannot trade full time due to other obligations). I use the Avonko EA and so far in about 6 weeks I have seen +88%. I know that's a good streak and won't last, but based on their backtesting results it seems like about 100-150% gains per year are commonplace. I'm looking for other good ones as well. Avonko is a commercial one, so I can't give it away, but if I come across any valuable free ones I will be sure to post them here for you. Regards - Max"

Chahine - in answer to you point about who would care more than you, my impression is that if you give a forex manager 25% of the profits, then that's a pretty good incentive to care!! HGNFX - would you care to post your results for the past 24 months, please? I'd also be interested in who heads up your trading team, and whether or not there have been any recent personnel changes, or if there are any in the pipeline.
