Why INTC?Why INTC?
PharmD29 said: "Why is it that INTC is getting beat up so bad? I feel like this is an unfairly bearish sentiment on this company. They had double digit growth in their mobile and server sales and their margins increased. I mean the hit they took is incredible. Seems like a great bargain to me. What is everyone else's take on this?"

Yeah, I heard that in the conference call but for heaven's sake there is no way it deserved the drop it has had! As stated above if anything Apple should be dropping and Intel should be climbing. Macworld brought a lot of good news for Intel shareholders."

It was definitely an over-reaction IMO. I'm taking advantage though and buying at these levels for my long term portfolio. Anything under $20 for Intel is a gift!"

Whats surprising to me is the fact that AMD seems to be gaining some momentum, during Intel's fall. INTC pretty much had control of the chip index last week, and although they still are in a great position, AMD is looking like a contender again. They rose on Intels poor earnings yet their stock is up on their own bad earnings. All in all i think Intel is unfairly beaten down and could be a great value at $19 especially since 75% of their sales come from outside the US."

Honestly, hold onto it. I am sure you probably plan on doing that but there is no reason to buy high and sell low and it WILL go back up so no worries there. I am a newbie in the area but I have already seen how hard it is to hold onto a stock while it is getting hammered. In fact if I were you I would buy more at this level and make some of that money back.
The only thing I can see happening to this stock is the antitrust lawsuit in Europe. Does anyone know what the status is on this?
EDIT: Just found this:
AMD, whose stock price has been falling in recent months, has been offered a $1.2 billion incentive package by the state, an offer that expires in July 2009. Supporters of the project are hoping a chip factory at the Luther Forest Technology Campus in Malta and Stillwater will help fuel a high-tech economic boom in the region.
Might be old news but a 1.2 billion dollar incentive package could be huge for AMD!"
