AlfredSokol said: "Shares were up almost 21% today. You have to think that traders will take profits tomorrow. If they all start selling, how about selling a few hundred myself? My thought is, no one's gonna want to hold Taser over the weekend.
What do you think?"
chahinemm said: "i agree im thinking of doing something similar but on the next dip buy a lot and sell on a descend 20 25% hike and wait if goes higher gradually sell until i come to 25% of my shares but not forgeting to keep a tight stop loss that any drop i get out fast  no use to take any useless risk...
but i have no time to follow it so i don't know if i will end up trading it...last semester is crazy... finishing my resume and working in university and studying at the same time...

The shares are in an IRA and I still stand by Taser as a pretty reasonable long term investment. Even if it does come out that Tasers can kill in some circumstances I think that most people would agree that they are still less lethal than a gun.
Back to the question, ya I think that it would be reasonable to short Taser for tomorrow. But I definitely wouldn't stake the farm on it. All trading knowledge that you have would tell you that it should bounce back down after a strong day today....but this is Taser that we're talking about. Taser's stock has never done what it's expected to do. Just about the most volatile thing on the market. Go ahead and short it, but have a stop-loss in and don't get greedy."
AlfredSokol said: "The main thing I'm thinking is that between tomorrow and the close at Friday, the people who made gains today will want to dump.
I'm probably going to watch it in the morning, and if it's tanking early dump some shares. I'm not betting the farm either."

1) an sec probe
2) potential lawsuits
3) class action lawsuits about the "pump and dump"
4) insiders sell $96 million dollars of stock when the company has only sold $44 million worth of products in their history
what am i missing?"
The complaint charges TASER, Phillips Smith, Patrick Smith, and Thomas Smith with violations of Sections 10(b) and 20(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 and Rule 10b-5 promulgated thereunder. More specifically, the complaint alleges that the Company failed to disclose and misrepresented the following material adverse facts which were known to defendants or recklessly disregarded by them: (1) that the Company actively and continually obscured the truth about the safety of its TASERs; (2) that even after it was revealed that more than 70 people had died in North America in TASER-related incidents, the Company vehemently asserted that its weapons were safe, in order to maintain profitability; (3) that the Defendants accelerated the Davidson's deal in the fourth quarter of 2004, in order to book the revenue, so TASER did not have to report its first quarter-to-quarter revenue decline in nearly two years; and (4) as a result, the Company lacked any reasonable basis for any statements it made regarding profitability and safety.
On January 6, 2005, just before midnight, TASER announced that it was cooperating with an informal inquiry letter from the SEC regarding the safety of TASER® products and a recent order received from Davidson's, Inc. This news shocked the market. Shares of TASER fell $4.90 per share, or 17.74 percent, on January 7, 2005, to close at 22.72 per share. Then on Monday, January 10, 2005, TASER shares tumbled another $2.67 per share or 11.75 percent, to close at $20.05 per share. On January 11, 2005, TASER released a letter to its shareholders and customers regarding the SEC investigation and the general state of the Company. Following the announcement, shares of TASER were down another $5.95 per share or 29.68 percent on January 11, 2005, and last traded at $14.10 per share.

LOL! I guess I wasn't alone in my idea.
I can't even get a trade off :)"
misterjover said: "Wow. TASR is taking off. Might not be a good time to short it right now buddy."
AlfredSokol said: "The window of opportunity closed fast. I wasn't planning on staying in for long.
Between 9:30 and 10 it went from 22 to 19.70.
There's no shares anyway, so the point is moot, I guess."
misterjover said: "Either way, I would stay away from this stock even in a long position.
This firm has little concern about their shareholders. There are waay too many fishy things about it."
AlfredSokol said: "I'm pretty sure they're gonna have a very hard time justifying the sale on 12/31/2004 and their sales of $96 million in stock.
That looks very odd, and the class action people are lining up. Booking a fake sale is very shaky ethically."

It doesn't look like they'll be able to dodge this bullet forever."
Heather said: "Doesn't look too good.
Their history of doing splits all the time almost makes you have to wonder."

Amen brother.

Darren said: "they are too guilty of pumpin. the execs of a company shouldn't care less about the day to day price of their stock. they should just run the company."
tonys said: "and forget about the stock so they can do a financing at .10, give me a break, tasr is the best trader on the nas for the last year and you cut it up?"

HappyHarry said: "The dude is embarassing."
tonys said: "and were traders it would read just fine....no time to decipher it for ya need to go make some money on futures lol, money is that green stuff made when you trade."
AlfredSokol said: "I bet you scrape by to earn a living, TonyS.
Do you even earn 6 figures?"
Darren said: "you think he makes 6 figures a year scalping trades with $1800 of capital? lol. this dude sees profits of $75 on good days. at the end of the year he pays out more than he takes in on commissions. his wife probably has a good job so he stay home and play stock trader at all. lol"
HappyHarry said: "Enough about him. Back to TASR.
The charts aren't too clear on this stock.
The bad news is piling on, but no one knows what will happen next."
AlfredSokol said: "Taser down almost 10% today! What a can't lose short. I think it's going lower soon, too."
