The Yuan is expected to strengthen. It was on a firm peg to the dollar now its vs a basket of currencies (whose contents are still hidden). It can most only a very small amount each day so for now its not worth trading. But long the Yen is seen as a proxy bet for further revaluation of the Yuan. So if you think that China will revalue further than short usd/jpy is the way to go.
