Buy/sell stocks/options/futures on paper instead of with cash. Make your picks as if you were spending your own money... Set an amount to play with that mirrors your potential investment....
Get a piece of paper...... or ledger if you want to look official..... and track your "trades".... ie:
10/18/2005 bought 3000 shares BUD @ $42
10/19/2005 sold 3000 shares BUD @ $42.25
track your profits/loss for a period of time....
Don't forget to subtract commissions
See if you make money or lose money.....
Though, you will find it's easier to play with paper than it is real money..."

jmoney said: "bought 50 shares at 47.06 at 1pm. now, the numbers on the chart at 10pm are: last trade 47.11, prev. close 47.54, and change of -.43. i know where the .43 comes from but did i gain 5 cents per share or lose .43 per share??? i'm confused."
