Ben Bernanke is the Chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. He was born Ben Shalom Bernanke on December 13th., 1953 in Decatur, Georgia.[1] He gew up in Dillon, South Carolina. He received his B.A. in economics from Harvard University in 1975 as Summa Cum Laude. He later received his Ph.D. in economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology also in 1979.[2]

Ben S. Bernanke was sworn in on February 1, 2006, as Chairman and a member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.[2]
