Origin

CANSLIM is a stock trading system devised by William O'Neill of Investors Business Daily. The strategy is primarily a growth stock play, and rely heavily on the elements of high volume and institutional investor momentum.[1]

Meaning of Acronym

Each of the letters in CANSLIM stands for something special. These principle were picked in accordance with William O'Neill's basic understanding of why certain stocks in the past 50 years have returned such large numbers.
